Die Casa Ferreirinha zählt zu den unangefochtenen Ikonen des portugiesischen Weinbaus und genießt auch international höchstes Ansehen. Namensgeberin war die berühmte Enkelin des Dynastiegründers Dona Antónia Ferreira, die auf den Spitznamen »Ferreirinha« (die kleine Ferreira) hörte und die ihr ganzes Leben dem Douro und dem Port gewidmet hatte. Mit viel unternehmerischem Geschick und Charisma konsolidierte sie den Betrieb und investierte in Infrastruktur und soziale Projekte. Heute ist das Traditionshaus im Besitz des Unternehmens Sogrape, dem größten Weinerzeuger Portugals.
Casa Ferreirinha is one of the undisputed icons of Portuguese winegrowing and also enjoys a high international reputation. The namesake was the famous granddaughter of the dynasty founder Dona Antónia Ferreira, who was nicknamed "Ferreirinha" (little Ferreira) and who had dedicated her whole life to the Douro and Port wine. With a lot of entrepreneurial skill and charisma, she consolidated the company and invested in infrastructure and social projects. Today the traditional house is owned by the Sogrape Company, the largest wine producer in Portugal.
